CUMBERLAND Kenneth Lee Valentine, 91, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at his home.
Born Dec. 22, 1927, in Cumberland, Mr. Valentine was the son of the late Charles W. Valentine and Virginia (Bridges) Valentine. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia A. Valentine, Aug. 7, 2001; a grandson, Troy Siebert; a sister, Gladys Valentine Flanagan; a stepmother, Dolsie Barnes Valentine; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
A United States Air Force Veteran, Kenny retired from Potomac Edison as a Lineman and was a Master Electrician. He was a former member of the Zion United Methodist Church and an original member of the band "Four on the Floor." He was also a member of the Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion. Kenny was a very kind and benevolent person who was a friend and father figure to many.
Kenny is survived by his children, Pamela Johns and husband, Jeff of Alabama, Cindy Valentine, and Jody Parrish and husband, Billy, all of Cumberland. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tina Ferrari and Sierra Green; his step granddaughter, Brittney Parrish; his great-grandchildren, Tatiana and Emilio Ferrari; as well as numerous close nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kris Lengel officiating.
Interment will be in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.
