Louise's Story

TRAPPE Louise W. "Liza" Taylor, 88, of Trappe, formerly of Keyser, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the Heart Fields Assisted Living Center in Easton.
Born on Aug. 2, 1928 at Headsville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Seymour W. and Alma F. (Grayson) Whipp. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Taylor on Sept. 13, 1986; a brother, Paul Whipp and two sisters, Freda Cooper and Helen Harrison.
Mrs. Taylor was a 1946 graduate of Keyser High School. She was formerly employed at Emerson-Pryne in Keyser and was the founder of the Village Card Shop in Keyser in 1966. Liza was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Learning to play piano by ear, she volunteered at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home by playing for the residents and for many other community functions when asked, and for a time, was active in the Mineral County Republican Executive Committee. Paul and Liza spent many happy summers together at Rehoboth beach, Del.
Surviving are her daughter, Pamela Hutchinson and husband, Curt Hutchinson III, Trappe; three grandchildren, Taylor, Brett and Curt Hutchinson IV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.
Interment will be in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville, W.Va.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Hospice of Potomac Valley, 100 Pin Oak Lane, Keyser, WV 26726.
