Marie Saville Bucy, 96, of Romney, W.Va., departed this life on April 25, 2017, at Hampshire Health Care Center in Romney.
Born on June 6, 1920, in Augusta, she was the daughter of the late Virgil E. and Florence (Riley) Beery.
Marie worked as a house parent for the Deaf & Blind School in Romney for many years. She was a member of the Augusta Church of Christ. She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior for the family as well as numerous others in the community. She was a living testimony at the Hampshire Care Center where she enjoyed the gospel and encouraged others in their faith. Even at the age of 96 she always wanted to sing and enjoyed the music provided at the center. She leaves behind her legacy of Christian faith.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Howard Beery, Thelma Loy, and Kathleen Saville.
Surviving are two children, Gary Saville and Lois Groves, both of Romney; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Bob Saville and wife, Janet, of Flintstone, John Saville and wife, Bonnie, of Augusta, Betty Messick of Springfield, Ruby Wolfe and Carol Ann Beery of Romney; and a very special friend, Jane Saville Barber.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. in McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Augusta, with Pastor Denzil Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Augusta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
All arrangements are being handled by McKee Funeral Home, Augusta.
