Martha Naomi Golden, 83, of Furnace Acres, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 3, 1934, in Wiley Ford, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Sarah Elizabeth (Martin) Barkley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ed" James Golden; and a brother, Gene Barkley.
Mrs. Golden had been a housekeeper at the Cumberland Nursing Home.
She was an avid bowler and was the first woman in Allegany County to get a 600 set! Mrs. Golden also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Aerie 2883, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She is survived by two sons, Edgar Lee Golden and wife, Sharon, and Mark Allen Golden; two sisters, Deborah Ruth Coffman and Connie Arbogast; grandchildren, Shawn Llewellyn, Shay Ann Engle, Eric Golden, Kyle Golden, Colon Golden, and Megan Davis; and great-grandchildren, Bailey, Adele, Rylan, Emily, Allison, Camille, and Elise.
By her request, Mrs. Golden will be cremated.
The Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, is handling the private arrangements.
