Mary Beulah (Finzel) Brode, 82, of Midlothian, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 14, 1934, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Beulah (Hendershot) Finzel. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William E. Brode Sr.
Mary was a member of Trinity Assembly of God, a greeter and Sunday school teacher. She was a 1952 Beall High School graduate. Mary worked at G.C. Murphy and Frostburg State University for 30 years working in the book store and as an accountant. She was well-traveled visiting all 50 states and foreign countries. Mary loved gardening, cats and frogs; she was a true Washington Redskins fan.
Surviving are children, Joy Brode, William E. Brode Jr. and fiancé, Christina, Larry Brode and Mark Brode; grandchildren, Brandon Brode, Chad Brode, Larry Brode Jr. and Vanessa Brode; great-grandchildren, Sydnye Brode, Analee Brode, Dakota Brode, Jace Brode and Rylan Fletcher.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Trinity Assembly of God, Midlothian, on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rob Culler officiating. There will be one hour viewing prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
