Randy Lee Appel, 65, of Cresaptown, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at his residence.
Born June 26, 1952, in Cumberland, he was the son of Gladys M. (Hite) Appel and the late Paul J. Appel.
Randy graduated from Allegany High School in 1970. He played football while he attended high school. He went on to work at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company and later retired from Westvaco. Randy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also had a passion for riding motorcycles.
Randy leaves behind his brother, Paul "Joe" Appel Jr., Narvon, Pa.; aunt, Marion "Billie" Hite, Pinto; special friends, Veda Birmingham, Cresaptown, Dennis Hoppert and wife, Anna Marie, Ridgeley, W.Va., and David Wiley and Carla, Cresaptown; his dog, Maddy; and numerous cousins.
In accordance with Randy's wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no visitation or services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, 716 Furnace St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
