CHANEYSVILLE, Pa. - Richard Dale Yokum, 86, of Chaneysville, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born June 3, 1931, he was the son of the late John W. and Lettie R. (Judy) Yokum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Nellie and Rachel; and brothers, Lemuel and Johnny.
Richard served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member, as well as a board member, of El-Bethel Assembly of God in Chaneysville. He was also a member of the Everett Antique Car Club. He enjoyed traveling, going to cruise-ins, and being with his family. Richard never met a stranger; he loved talking to people.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Cessna) Yokum, Chaneysville; three daughters, Wanda Clark and Rick, Bedford, Sharon Clark and Paul III, Chaneysville, and Jill Cadotte and David, Sagamore Hills, Ohio; sons, Bill Yokum and Sharon, Beans Cove, and Sam Yokum and Josephine, Chaneysville; brother, Denver Yokum; grandchildren, Rickey, Lindsay, Natalie, Eric, Keith, Ian, Shannon, Beckie, Devany, Paul, Wesley, Amber, Wyatt, Clinton, and Dale; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy, Cresaptown, on Monday, July 10, 2017, from 4 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at El-Bethel Assembly of God in Chaneysville, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Vincent Smith officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in El-Bethel Assembly of God Cemetery.
