PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. Ronald Irven "Ron" "Slim" Wolford passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte.
He was born May 15, 1939, and grew up in Cumberland.
In 1978, he moved to Sarasota, and in 2000 to North Port. He was the son of the late Irven Wolford and the late Mary Cunningham. Ron was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member and treasurer of the Enforcers Motorcyle Club for Charlotte County Chapter and the Venice Corvette Club. His greatest joy in his life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He retired from the grocery business in 2002 and pursued his interest in real estate and property management.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Alice Jane; daughters, Rebecca (David) Kreiling, Rhonda (Mike) Piser; grandchildren, Shane, Chad and Paige Kreiling and Jared Piser. Also surviving are two sisters, Sonia Kisamore and Sandra Dyche and a special aunt, Irene Gates.
He was proceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald; and sister Carolyn Bible.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday May 13, 2017. A ride of cars and motorcycles will begin at Big Lots parking lot at 1 p.m. riding past many of his favorite spots ending at Skewers at 2 p.m. for refreshments.
