Sylvia Rose-Ellen (Nazelrod) Paugh, 76, of Frostburg, formerly of Oakland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 10, 1941, in Oakland, Mrs. Paugh was the daughter of the late Eugene Otis Nazelrod and Virginia Irene (Rowan) Nazelrod. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Edwin Neal Nazelrod; a sister, Theresa Elaine Nazelrod; and a granddaughter, Heather L. Paugh.
Sylvia retired from St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home where she was a registered nurse. She was previously employed with Cuppett and Weeks Nursing Home. Sylvia was a big influence on her family and was influential in several becoming nurses.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Mary Joyce Tasker, Frostburg; and her son, Michael Paugh, Petersburg, W.Va. She also leaves behind her brothers, John Robert Eugene Nazelrod and Curtis Matthew Nazelrod; her sister, Valerie Winona Nazelrod; her sister-in-law, Anita Frances Nazelrod; her grandchildren, James H. Tasker, David F. Dever, Kristofor E. Paugh, DeAnna M. Paugh, Brandon L. Paugh, and Tiffany F. Paugh; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
