A. Eddy Mueller, 89, of Hedgesville, W.Va., passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at his home.
Born Sept. 22, 1933, at Tunnel Hill Farm, Oldtown, Eddy was the son of the late Walter Earl Mueller and Olive Mae (Shoemaker) Mueller.
He served in the Army in Japan where he grew to love the Japanese people and culture.
He especially loved his volunteer work at a local Japanese orphanage there where he made lifelong friends.
He graduated from Frostburg Teachers College in 1960.
His career was long and varied; and he retired as a teacher at South Middle School in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Eddy was known for his quick wit and easy smile.
He loved the Lord and dedicated much of his time to serving Him as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He admired nature and art and enjoyed both through his photography hobby.
Above all, he loved his family.
His true joy came from being a husband, dad, grandpa, and opa.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Lee) Mueller; stepsons, Chris Riley and Scott Riley; his children with his former wife, the late Viola Anne McCabe, Lisa Mueller Theis, Lori Nickerson, Brett Mueller, Bart Mueller, Sean Mueller, and Eddy Von Mueller; and his children with his former wife, Linda Holtzapple, Erin Peralta, Brian Mueller, Beth Mueller, Nathan Mueller, and Brandon Mueller.
He is also survived by his siblings, James Mueller, Marilyn Eyler, and Fritzi De Gruchy; and 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter Earl Mueller Jr., Charles Mueller, Robert Mueller, and Richard Mueller, and his sisters, Norma Appold, Shirley Funari, Betty Jean Andrews, and Adele Mueller.
A memorial service will be held Feb. 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. at LDS Chapel, 93 Langston Blvd., Martinsburg, WV.
