Alexander "Al" Obituary

TROY, Ill. - Alexander "Bud" "Al" Jones, SMSGT (Ret.) 73, of Troy, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 in Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill. He was born in Cumberland on July 12, 1937, a son of the late James Jones and Kathleen (Haines) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Luella "Lou" and Arthur W. "Pete" McKay. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, St Jerome Choir, VFW Troy Post 976. He retired from Air Force after 30 years of service and 10 years Civil Service duty. Survivors include his wife, Melinda (Raguirag) Jones of Troy; a daughter, Julie A. (Charles) Dicken of Cumberland; grandchildren, Danielle Marie Schaefer, Rylie Nanea Lee and Leilelani Brooke Lee; a brother, Gary (Joyce) Jones of Baltimore; sisters, Barbara Oster of Cumberland, and Jeannie (Henry) Camacho of Philadelphia, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Troy, on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 from 9 to 10 a.m. Services will follow at 10 a.m. with Fr. Pat Jakel officiating. Mr. Jones wishes were to be cremated Memorials may be made to the Fischer House at Jefferson Barracks Hospital or Masses. On line expressions of sympathy may be made at www.laughlinfh.com.
