Meyersdale, PA - MEYERSDALE, Pa. [mdash] Alice M. Dietz, 93, passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2025, at the home of her niece where she resided.
Alice was born on March 1, 1932, to Bertha (Long) and Charles Robinette of Southampton township. She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Dietz; children, Calvin II and Sandra (Wilson); and siblings, Neil, Charles Jr., Lois (Cessna), and Larry.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Rick) Bowden; and five grandsons, Calvin III and Andy Dietz, Kevin and Craig Bowden, and Dustin Wilson. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Tatum and Brody Dietz, Scott and Ryan Bowden, and Zepplin Wilson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was a longtime resident of Shelby, Ohio, where she worked as a cook and waitress at several local establishments. She returned to Pennsylvania where she resided with her sister and family for more than 20 years.
She stayed busy volunteering at Wellersburg Firehall chicken fry. Many there referred to her as "Granny". She also enjoyed cheering and supporting her great nieces and nephews, Sydney, Sam, and Seth Deist, at their sporting events. She loved wrestling season most of all and had a special place in her heart for her Sam B. Alice was known and loved by many.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman, PA on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at 10 a.m. on Nov. 7, 2025. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Jeffries, officiating. Burial will be at Cook's Cemetery, Southampton Township.
