Hagerstown, Maryland - Alice Mary Sencindiver, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at Diakon Senior Living Robinwood, in Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 12, 1939, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late John Bartlett and Mary Bentz Bartlett.
She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, in Cumberland, St. Joseph College, in Emmitsburg (BA), West Virginia University, in Morgantown, W.Va. (MSW), and Frostburg University, in Frostburg (MBA).
She was a clinical social worker for the State of Maryland, where she retired in 2006. Periodically, she also worked at the Washington County Commission on Aging.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gavin Sencindiver, and a sister, Betty Jean Northcraft.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, in Hagerstown.
A memorial Mass for Alice will be celebrated at the 7:30 a.m.
Mass on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with the Reverend Father Ernest Cibelli celebrant.
