Elk Garden - Ann Catherine Sayers, 85, of Elk Garden, W.Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at Berkeley Medical Center, in Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 25, 1937, in Keyser, she was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Loretta (Liller) Ward. She was the loving wife of Jack Leroy Sayers, Sr.

Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who lovingly cared for all her family. She graduated from Elk Garden High School, Class of 1956, and attended Shepherd University. She worked for the Aging and Family Services as an In-Home Care Technician, cook, and sight supervisor, until she left to care for family members. Ann had a heart for missions and was a life-long member of the Elk Garden Assembly of God church. She served as a Sunday School superintendent, teacher, helped with a young teen group performing worship dances, and she was a mighty prayer warrior.

Surviving in addition to her husband are children, James Endler, Jr. and wife, Alicia, of Elk Garden, Linda Sly and husband, Jamie, of Durham, N.C., Christie Lyons, of Elk Garden; stepchildren, Sharon Mogar and husband, Mark, of Westminster, Md., Katherine Bartlett and the late Robert, of East Earl, Pa., and Jack Sayers, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Sykesville, Md.; brother, Walter Ward and wife, Vicki, of Martinsburg. Between Ann and Jack, they have shared 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Dorothy Jackson and husband, Ervin.

Ann loved spending time with family (numerous nieces, nephews, and so many other family members; special childhood friends, Mardell (Morris) Jones-Bishoff and Dorothy Schoenly; and her church family. She has left a powerful legacy for all!

The family will welcome friends on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Elk Garden Assembly of God church, 28 Center St., Elk Garden, W.Va. 26717. Her funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at 11 a.m., at the Elk Garden Assembly of God church.

Interment will be in Queen's Meadow Point Cemetery, in Keyser.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann Sayer's name to the Elk Garden Assembly of God church.
