Mrs Barbara Ruth Abell Obituary

Buena Vista, GA - Barbara Ruth Robinette Abell was born on July 11, 1943, in Keyser, W.Va. She was the second oldest of 10 children, born to Carlyle Bruce and Madeline Virginia Robinette.

Barbara passed away on May 7, 2025, in Savannah, Ga., surrounded by her husband, Charles S. Abell and daughters, Loree Abell and Valerie Bierman. Barbara is survived by grandson, Garrett Bierman; and granddaughter, Camryn Bierman; as well as seven siblings.

Barbara was a 1961 graduate of Keyser High School, Keyser, W.Va. She furthered her education by graduating from Scott's Beauty Academy in 1963.

Barbara and Charles married on June 6, 1965, in Cumberland, Md. Barbara established her beauty shop shortly afterwards. In 1992, Barbara and Charles moved to Florida. While in Florida, she continued to do hair and also obtained her realtors license, retiring in 2012. They then moved to Georgia in 2021, to be closer to their daughters.

She made impressions upon many people throughout the years. Barbara was a one of a kind woman, who will forever be missed by her family, friends and those that had the privilege of knowing her.

A Ceremony of Life will be held on June 21, 2025, 1 p.m., at the New Day Church, 15003 Wyoming Ave. SW, Cumberland Md., 21502.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the New Day Church Food Bank, is appreciated.
