Confluence, PA - Barbara K. Mathias, 77, Confluence, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md.

She was born Sept. 6, 1948, in Confluence, a daughter of Arthur Samuel and Alverta (Bach) Wilhelm. Her parents and husband, Leonard B. Mathias Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Michael Mathias (Michelle), Cheat Lake, W.Va.; and a daughter, Krista Helvey (Eric), Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Leigh Rose Mathias, and Janna and Anders Helvey; sister-in-law, Claudia Hambacker (Greg), Yulee, Fla.; nieces, Staci Barrett and family, Lusby, Md., Sara McGraw and family, Yulee, Fla.; and nephew, Sean Triplett and family, Boise, Idaho.

Barbara was a graduate of Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School, Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Cumberland, Md., and obtained a bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va. She was involved in the nursing profession in various capacities for over 40 years. She was a member of the Addison Methodist Church.

There will be no viewing or funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Barbara's memory to Conemaugh Regional Hospice, Hospice of Garrett County, or the Addison Methodist Church.
