Bobbie A. Heavener Obituary

Keyser, WV - Bobbie Heavener, 76, of Cabin Run Road, Keyser, W.Va., passed away at his home Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.


He was born on Sept. 15, 1949, in Petersburg, W.Va., to the late Olie D. and Goldie (Goldizen) Heavener and stepmother Dessie (Kimble) Heavener. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Wolfe; a brother, Curtis Kohne; and a stepsister, Pearl Bosley.


Bobbie was a devoted husband to Glenna P. (Lease) Heavener for 35 1/2 cherished years. A beloved father to daughters, Misty L. Heavener of Burlington, W.Va., and Charity A. Heavener of Keyser, he was also a proud grandfather to Logan Haynes and his significant other Caylee Sharpless; and great-grandfather to Everlie and Roarak, who was born just the day before he passed away.


He also leaves behind his brothers, Reggie Heavener, Richard Heavener and wife Joy, Fredie Heavener, all of Keyser, Junior Heavener and wife Sue of Burlington, W.Va., and Terry Yokum and wife Cindy of Keyser; sisters, Wanda Elkins of Keyser, Susie Knowles and husband Dale of Reedsville, N.C., and Eunice Aldridge of Keyser; a stepbrother, Dyer Whetzel of Keyser; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he held close to his heart.


Bobbie was a 1969 graduate of Keyser High School. He served with dedication for 49 years as a security officer with Westvaco Luke Mill and New Page, retiring in 2018. His diligent work ethic was also demonstrated in his earlier employment at the Mount Storm Power Plant, Asplundh Tree Services and Chattanooga Glass.


Known for his unwavering faith, Bobbie was a dedicated member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church (The Grace Place) in Fort Ashby, W.Va., where he served as custodian for over 20 years. He was everyone's best friend, a man who never met a stranger. His servant's heart was evident in everything he did in life, serving as a powerful witness for the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, working outdoors, cutting firewood and traveling, especially to Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa.


Friends will be received at the Calvary Assembly of God Church (The Grace Place) on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, from 1 to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.


A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church, with Pastor Wes Beahm officiating.


Interment will take place in Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
