Cumberland, MD - CUMBERLAND [mdash] Bonnie Ilene Humbertson, 78, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Aug. 1, 1947, in Cumberland, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Dorothy Elizabeth (Smith) Robertson. She was also preceded in death by Patricia Hillebrecht, whom she remained close with over the years; her brother, Peter Horwath; and her sister, Charlotte Shoemaker.

Bonnie graduated from Oldtown High School in 1965; she then went on to graduate from Allegany College of Maryland, and Frostburg State University where she earned her Bachelor and Master's Degrees.

She worked for Allegany County Public School for 40 years where she taught Reading at Washington Middle School. She also taught Adult Education Classes in the evening. During her teaching years, Bonnie was nominated as teacher of the year twice, but she always declined because she didn't want to stand out.

Bonnie was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Over the years, she collected "Golden Books" and many AVON figurines.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Humbertson; her sons, Raymond Humbertson (Dee), and Don Humbertson (Olga); her brothers, Ronald Horwath (Mary), Fred Hillebrecht II, and Troy Hillebrecht; her sisters, Vicki Redway and Mary Patricia Horwath; her grandchildren, Isela Humbertson and Ashley Humbertson; her great-grandchildren, Shawn and Aubri; and her numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11 a.m., with James Buchanan officiating. Friends will also be received one hour prior.
