Brandon Allen Boyce Obituary
LaVale, Maryland - Brandon Allen Boyce, 44, was called home after a tragic accident on Monday, May 4, 2026. Brandon was born on Aug. 16, 1981, to Linda Lee (Ellsworth) Boyce and the late Robert Earl Boyce, in Cumberland, Md. He was also preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his nephew, Robert Justin Boyce.
Besides his loving mother, Brandon also leaves behind his soulmate and life partner of 14 years, Courtney McClarren, along with sons, Caleb James Boyce, John David Boyce; his daughter, Addison Rose Boyce; and stepson, Carter Wagener. Also surviving are his brothers, Robert Scott Boyce and wife Nancy, of Millersville, Md., Todd Lee Boyce of Cumberland, Md., Eric Andrew Boyce of Alum Bank, Pa.; and his sister, Melinda Sue Dicken and husband Brian, of Cumberland, Md. He will also be missed greatly by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, who he grew up closely with and loved very much.
Above all else, Brandon loved his family with a rare and unwavering passion. He was endlessly proud of his son Caleb, speaking of him often and with unmistakable admiration. Brandon looked forward to watching Caleb grow into the man he knew he was becoming and believed wholeheartedly in the impact he would make on this world.
His bond with John was something truly special. Brandon's greatest joy was being John's dad, best buddy, teacher and adventure partner. Whether they were fishing, watching racing videos, riding bikes or simply spending time together, Brandon treasured every moment. There was still so much he wanted to teach him, so many memories left to make, and that loss is immeasurable.
And then there was Courtney, his love, his person, his forever best friend and the love of his life. The love they shared was extraordinary and undeniable, the kind of partnership most people only hope exists. To witness them together was to witness unconditional love, loyalty and true friendship in its purest form.
Outside of his family, Brandon spent much of his life alongside his best friend, Brian and Keri, his wife, who witnessed, a bond grow that few people ever experience. Their friendship was steadfast, rare and inspiring, built on loyalty, trust, laughter and a brotherhood that transcended friendship.
Brandon also loved his dogs—LuLu, Ginger and Penny—as family, spoiling and caring for them as if they were his children.
Music was another piece of Brandon's soul, a gift given to him by his father. His talent on the guitar brought peace and comfort to everyone around him. People never wanted him to stop playing. He shared that gift generously, even teaching his best friend's daughter to play guitar when she was young, which is a gift she still carries with her today.
He loved, deeply and broadly, his mother, his sister, his brothers, his friends and Jesus. Brandon made family out of friendship, bringing people in, showing up without hesitation, and carrying others through hardship and heartbreak time and time again. If you were loved by Brandon, you never questioned it.
He worked as a project manager for Smart Link and was grateful to work from home, where he could spend his days caring for and being present with Courtney and John, exactly where he wanted to be.
Brandon leaves behind a legacy of fierce love, unwavering loyalty, generosity, faith, music, friendship and family. He gave everything he had to the people he loved, and his absence will be felt forever.
Some people pass through this world quietly. Brandon did not. He loved loudly, protected fiercely, gave endlessly and mattered deeply. Those who knew him will carry pieces of him with them always.
