Carl Kenneth Conley Obituary

Cumberland, MD - Carl Kenneth Conley, 77, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2026.

Born Dec. 1, 1948, in Garrett, Md., he was the son of the late Harold Kenneth Conley and Hilda Eliza (Shepard) Conley.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Etta Lee (Beveridge) Conley.

Carl worked at the Dominion Power Company as a heavy equipment operator. He started at 18 years of age and was there until he retired.

He attended Cumberland Seventh Day Adventist Church and belonged to Cresaptown Eagles, Aerie #2883.

In his free time, Carl enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates play ball. He loved the outdoors, including coon hunting and mushroom hunting.

Among the survivors are his stepson, Charles Thrasher; cousin, David Scott Shank, his wife Jayne, their sons Eric and Jaden, and their daughter Miranda. He was also blessed with many dear friends who helped with his care.

Carl had a big heart and was very giving to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Monday, May 4, 2026, from noon until 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jim Buchanan officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
