Frostburg, Maryland - Carla La'Rae (Simmons) McLaughlin, 63, of Frostburg, Md., passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at UPMC-Western Maryland.

Born June 27, 1962 in Frostburg, Md., Ms. McLaughlin was the daughter of the late Bruce Simmons and Betty (McClure) Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert McLaughlin.

A homemaker, Carla was an avid Carnival Cruise Gold Member. She loved going on car rides and playing bingo but most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Carla is survived by her daughter, Amanda Petenbrink and husband Richard; a son, Zachary McLaughlin; a stepson, Christopher McLaughlin; a stepdaughter, Crystal McLaughlin; her grandchildren, Alena and Andrew Kucharczyk; her step-grandchildren, Alissa, Mark, and Jayce McLaughlin; as well as her siblings, Sheila Broadwater and Howard "Buck" Robertson; Bruce Simmons, Jr. and wife Melissa; and Sheryl Diehl and husband Brian; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
