Carole Jean (Pardew) Korns, 82, of Ellerslie, went to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 9, 2025.

Born in Cumberland, Md., on Feb. 6, 1943, she was the only child of the late C.B. and Ruth Naomi (Couter) Pardew.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ken L. Korns. To this union God gave one son, K. Brian Korns; two living and very precious grandchildren, Trevor Korns (Nichole) and Trent A. Korns (Morgan); and two great-grandchildren, Paislee N. Korns and Keegan J. Korns; Special cousin, Eileen McCoy (Walt).

She was a homemaker and former schoolteacher, having started several kindergartens in the Tri-State area. In 1968, she started Tender Years Institute which later was called Calvary Christian Academy. She graduated from Fort Hill School 1961 and graduated from Frostburg State College in 1966 with a BS degree in education. She and her husband baby sat their grandchildren and great-grandchildren while their parents worked. This was a great joy and blessing in their lives. They thanked the Lord many times for this opportunity. She also was a great lover of the hymns and was the organist at Calvary Bible Church from 1971 to 2020. Her purpose for living was to honor her Lord and Savior that she had put her trust in when she was 13 years of age.

The family would like to thank UPMC-Hospice, the men and women of the Calvary Bible Church, and Crystal Walls of Med First in Cumberland.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Calvary Bible Church, 13901 South Gardner Street, Ellerslie, MD 21529, then again on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 1 p.m. till the time of service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Greg Miller officiating.

Burial at Cooks Cemetery, Southampton Township, Somerset County.
