Carolyn R. Rinker Obituary

Ridgeley, WV - Carolyn R. Rinker, 94, Ridgeley, W.Va., passed away June 20, 2025 at UPMC-Western Maryland.

She was born September 10, 1930 in Cleveland, OH and was the daughter of the late Walter and Ruth Bosley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivan G. Rinker; and a brother, Richard Bosley.

She was a graduate of Romney High School, class of 1948. She received both a bachelors and master's degree in education from Frostburg College. She taught in elementary school for thirty years, retiring in 1995.

Carolyn was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at Short Gap, where she taught Sunday School for many years, she was a member of the Woman's Society, and also taught Bible school.

Carolyn is survived by a son, Andrew Rinker and wife Carol of Short Gap; and a daughter, Karen Largent and husband Duane of Wiley Ford, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Amanda Rinker-Gomez (Jesus), Ashley Carkin (David), and Kendra Zaremba (Steve); as well as four great grandchildren, Grayson and Owen Zaremba, Gavin and Harper Carkin; a sister, Janice Straw.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, 128 Wesley Chapel Rd, Ridgeley, W.Va. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ann Merkel officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD.
