Cumberland, Maryland - Cathy Lovada Olinger, 71, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, at Cumberland Healthcare Center in the Hospice suite.

Born in Cumberland on May 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Ann (Thompson) Olinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Todd Olinger; and her sister, Bonnie (Hinkle) Alessi.

Cathy is survived by her sister, Randy Ann DiFonzo and husband John; brother, Danny Olinger and wife Faye; and twin brother, Craig Olinger and wife Linda. She is also survived by nieces, Tashia Nave, Jonna Pendergast and husband Adam, Laura VanMeter and husband Ray; and nephews, Troy Olinger, Mark DiFonzo and wife Jennifer; and great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-nieces. Cathy also leaves behind her furry best friend, Buddy.

Cathy worked at Sacred Heart Hospital for 20 years before becoming an in-home caregiver. Cathy loved taking care of people.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to The Maryland Anatomy Board, and she will eventually be cremated. There will be no funeral service.

Cathy's family would like to acknowledge and give a special thank you to Carla Wengerd, Crystal Blake, Arreon Paige, UPMC Hospice and the staff on the 7th floor, and the staff at Cumberland Rehabilitation. We are grateful for everything you did through Cathy's illness.
