Christine Robertson Bishop ((Crit)) Obituary

Christine (Crit) Robertson Bishop, a loving and devoted mother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by family. She was born on Dec. 20,1948, in Cumberland, Md., to Millard L. Robertson and Helen M. (Robertson) Conway.

Crit was a supervisor for the State of Maryland Department of Social Services for nearly 40 years before retiring. She was an avid member of Toastmasters International, where she earned the title of Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest level of educational achievement a member can attain. In her later years, she continued her community involvement by becoming a member of the YaYa Sisterhood of Western Maryland.

Crit was known for her warmth and kindness, her sharp wit, and her unwavering support to those around her. Upon the arrival of her first grandchild, Crit became "Gma", a name she proudly carried throughout the rest of her life. She dedicated her life to her family, finding immense joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she wasn't spending time with her children and grandchildren, she could be found challenging herself with a brain game or puzzle, reading, tuning into Maryland Public Television (MPT), or enjoying her eclectic taste in music.

Crit was also known to share her personality and sense of humor with others through numerous forms of social media. Crit was an avid collector of Longenberger and Nora Fleming and enjoyed gifting this collection to her family and others. She treasured her thirty years living near the beach, and in more recent years, she traveled to California and Colorado to visit and attend her granddaughters' weddings.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Robbins, Edward Izzett (wife Chi), Cathy Sikora (husband Ron) and Sarah Izzett-Sikora (husband Bob); her grandchildren, Tyler Stephens, Aysia (Stephens) Bradford (husband Will), Cochise Stephens, Leah (Izzett) Reich (husband Michael), Maury Izzett, Gabrielle Izzett, Jayden Sikora, Marina Sikora and Sheridan (Caruso) Moore (husband Michael); and great-grandchildren, Omari Stephens, Octavia Stephens, and Santana Stephens.

She is also survived by her siblings, Karen Poorbaugh (husband Bill), Walter Robertson, Joe Conway (wife Amber), and Marty Conway (partner Brenda Wyles).

She was preceded in death by father, Millard Robertson; mother, Helen Conway; step-father, Hubert Conway; and great-grandson, Slade Hendrix Stephens.

Loved ones may honor her memory by making a donation to one of the following organizations:

*Maryland Public Television (donate.mpt.org)

*Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation (helpfightra.org)
