RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Dale Austin "B.J." "Buster" Judy, 59, of Ridgeley, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence. Born May 16, 1950 in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Austin William Judy and Erma (Lafferty) Judy Robinette. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Darrell "Butch" Judy in 2006. Buster graduated from Ridgeley High School. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era. He was a heavy equipment operator, having worked through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 37. Buster was a lifetime member and past commander of V.F.W. Post 6667, Fort Ashby. He also belonged to the Viet Nam Veterans of America, Chapter 172, Cumberland; William Shuck Post 136, American Legion, Ridgeley; Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 271; Cumberland Outdoor Club, and the Brass Cactus. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Cindi (Bradfield) Judy; one daughter, Hope Michaels and husband, Kevin, Fort Ashby; two grandchildren, who were the highlight of his life, Bryce and Bryer Michaels; one brother, Michael Judy, Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Cheryl Mattingly, Pasadena, Md. and Chris Swanger, Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc, Route 28, Fort Ashby, (1-888-724-2251) on Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will following in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Rowe officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Viet Nam Veterans of America, Chapter 172.
