David Paul Hamilton, of Funkstown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022.
Born on April 8, 1953, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late H. Sherman and E. Mae (Lowery) Hamilton.
He was a kind and loving husband to his wife of 28 years, Debbie Hamilton.
He was a graduate of Allegany High School, Class of 1971, and retired from the State of Maryland. He went on to work at Northrup Grumman, the board of education, and Hurley Auctions.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Miller; son in-law, Clark; son, Shad Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; son, Bryan Haywood; and grandchildren, Zachary Keller, Michael Keller, and Maggie Keller. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon Hamilton, Ruth Cramer (Bob), John Hamilton (Raquel), and Gene Hamilton.
Dave was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors, gardening, canning, cast iron cooking, and helping others.
A public memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
