Springfield, West Virginia - SPRINGFIELD, W.VA. — David Eugene Joy was born Dec. 24, 1949, to Marie A. Joy (True) and Floyd C. Joy, both of which preceded him in death. His son, Stuart Joy also preceded him in death. Dave was a brother to Richard C. Walker and Marjorie A. Mummert who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a brother, Kenneth (Butch) Joy of Ellerslie, Md., Linda L. Weadon of Ellerslie, Md., Nancy J. Petruzzi of Pittsburgh, Pa., Sandra K. Meyers of Meyersdale, Pa., and Sherry L. Zembower of Cresaptown, Md.

A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Dave enjoyed playing various athletics in the Cumberland area, until he joined the United States Army and served bravely during the Vietnam conflict. Dave was honorably discharged from the army and continued on to raise a family. He also drove a truck for the teamsters and enjoyed working on the mechanics of a vehicle with his brother, Butch. He was a special Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He loved the Lord and read and recited the Bible often.
