Mrs Debra Darlene Williamson (Debbi) Obituary

Cumberland, MD - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful sister, Debra (Smith) Williamson. She passed peacefully July 12,2025, due to complications from a recent fall.

Born on April 22,1953, to Vernon and Dorothy Smith, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27+ years, Roger D. Williamson, her sister and brother-in-law, Verna and Hal Taylor, Covington, GA., her brother and sister-in-law, V. Scott and Jenny Smith, Covington, GA., and sweet kitty, Cleo. She is also remembered by her many close friends and family members, who will miss her dearly.

She attended the West Virginia School for the Blind and Deaf, in Romney and earned her bachelor's degree from Frostburg State University. Debbi went on to have a 30-year career as a Vocational Rehab counselor for the state of Maryland.

Debbi was a talented musician and had the voice of an angel. Throughout the years, Roger and she would perform throughout the community. In recent years, they had an internet radio show, on Phoenix Radio 1208, three times a week, heard worldwide.

She had a love of travel and curiosity about life. Ireland was one of her favorite adventures.

She never faced a challenge with defeat, always determined and unafraid - she even drove a car, secretly in her youth!

Debbi was a cat lover, Wordle enthusiast and an excellent cook, especially her most requested potato salad. She was an avid reader and an accomplished knitter. Her collection of music boxes is extensive. Known for her femininity, perfectly manicured nails and styled hair, always.

Born with an irrepressible spirit, Debbi brought light and laughter to every gathering. Her generosity and kindness resonated through her family, friendships, and community endeavors.

Those lucky enough to have known her, or simply touched by her in some small way, will never forget Debbi. Her compassionate desire to help others remains unrivaled, and that spirit is embodied by all of those she has inspired. Known for her fierce independence, Debbi rarely accepted the help she so freely gave. A steadfast friend, a loving family member, and a beacon of hope, Debbi leaves behind a legacy of compassion and grace.

Though our loss is profound, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the inspiration of a life lived fully, lovingly, and generously. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.

Details regarding a celebration of Debbi's life will be announced in the coming days.
