Early Wednesday morning, Jan. 3, 2024, Diona Kay (Getson) Andrews walked through Heaven's Gate, perfect and fully restored. She was born on April 26, 1948, to the late William F. and Mary C. (Lambert) Getson, and was the "big sister" of the late Terrance "Mike" Getson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Diona attended Central Elementary and Valley High School, and in 1973 she married William "Bill" Blubaugh. Together, they raised 5 children, Jeffrey, William "Clay" (Cherie), Melissa Shirk (Jeremy), Jamie, and Nathan, until Bill's passing in 1993. In 2003, she married Charles "Chuck" Andrews and added Ted Andrews (Jennifer), Charlotte Gray (John), and Samantha Hughes to her family. Diona's heart was always for her family and she was thrilled to be "Grammy" to 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She had special relationship with her cousin, Gail McKenzie, and was also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandy Getson; her aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Diona was a life-long member of the Lonaconing Methodist Church. She loved dancing and going to listen to bands, and enjoyed researching the family genealogy, and attending all the family functions. In her own sassy way, Diona was the glue that held this big, crazy family together and made it all work. We loved her deeply and will miss her every day.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at 1 p.m., with the Reverend Bernadette Ross officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.
