Cumberland and Hagerstown, MD - Donna Grace Giffin, 88, of Cumberland and Hagerstown, Md., went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026 at Mountain City Nursing and Rehab in Frostburg, Md.

She was born April 5, 1937, in Altoona, Pa., to the late Robert and Ruth Pressel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis William Giffin; and two sons, Robert Lee Giffin and John Russell Giffin.

Donna graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart, Lewis, in the same year. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker for many years, and her family was the world to her.

She worked with Citi Bank and Brook Lane in Hagerstown as a customer service representative until her retirement in 2012. Following retirement she was an active member and volunteer of Rawlings United Methodist Church.

Family, friends, and everyone in-between, across the entire country, and over many generations will remember her for the greeting cards she would send at every stage of their lives. Donna was truly the original social network; everyone she met and cared about was touched with her words of encouragement throughout the year. The cards were a form of ministry and service to the Lord and his beloved people on earth, and they will sincerely be missed by all. In her memory, the family encourages you to reach out to those you care about throughout the year and remind them they are not alone in the world.

Donna is survived by her sons, Thomas William Giffin (Terry) and Donald Lewis Giffin (Teresa); sister, Janet Shank (Ed); grandchildren, Robert "Bobbie", Branden (Laura), Katrina, Alexander Giffin (Emily), Nathan Brown (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Morgan, Makayla, Bobbie, Ali, Dexter, Haley, and Spencer.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 28th from noon to 2 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD. A memorial service will immediately follow beginning at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike McGowan officiating.

Privately and at a later date interment will be with her husband in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Md.
