Donna Maureen Griffith

July 16, 1945 - October 24, 2024

FROSTBURG-

With family by her side, Donna passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at Sterling Care under the care of UPMC Hospice Services.

Donna was born in Frostburg on July 16, 1945 and was the first born in a family of five to the late Donald and Maureen (Grimes) Griffith. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael William and John David. She was the big Sister and Protector to her four brothers no matter their age.

Surviving are her brothers, Guy Grant (Bonny, who was like a sister) and William Michael (her faithful caregiver). Surviving are niece, Amy Marie (Eddie) Davis and nephew, Jason Patrick Griffith. She loved and took care of them as her own. Also, she leaves behind her great niece, Haley Cathleen Griffith, and her great nephews, Jackson Grant Griffith and Noah Edward-Grant Davis. She loved them with all her heart and showered them with more love and candy than you can imagine. There wasn't anything she wouldn't have done for them. Aunt Donna had a heart of gold and an incredible sense of humor! Cooked fantastic meals for her family every Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Donna was a 1963 graduate of Beall High School. She retired from A&P Supermarket for 30 years to care for her mother. She had worked for Ford's Drug Store as well. She is a member of the American Legion Farrady Post 24 Women's Auxiliary for 52 years and the Frostburg Moose Lodge.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Sterling Care. The aides (Jen, Hope, Danyelle, Rosemary, Bri), nurses (Ti, Kim), Nurse Practitioner (Kristina) and any staff member we may have missed who were instrumental in making sure Donna was cared for compassionately, lovingly and in a safe manner.
