SOMERSET, Pa. - Doris (Lambert) Emerick-Williams, born in Zigler, W.Va., to Leslie & Evelyn Lambert on Nov. 5, 1934, passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.
Those waiting to welcome her on the next step of her journey were her husband, Frank; daughter Diane; her parents; siblings Flossie, Rachel, Howard & Jerry, and nephew, Jimmy. She will be missed by many, especially her family, they include husband Don; sons Jerry (Cheri) & Jason (Karen); daughters, Debbie (Scott), Donna (Randy), Darla (Greg), Kara (Steve); siblings, Gin, Cleo, Dale, Richard, Madeline & Mary Jane.
Mom Mom, as she was affectionately known, loved to announce to anyone who would listen that she had 23 grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, Travis & Corbin Emerick, Shelley, Taryn, Noelle, Hayley, Kerry & Devin Anderson, Adri, Weedle, Sheena, Levi, Logan & Dylan Dively, Cody & Dakota Glessner, Jacob, John, James & Kaitlynn Emerick, and of course Wyatt Adami. She loved them, their wives and husbands, and was so proud of each and every one. She also delighted in 35 great-grandchildren and could name them all Macy, Halle, Sami, Chloe, Tyrell, Haygen, Grayson, Kennedy, Taylee, Hadley, Cooper, Carson, Abigail, Tanner, Macy, Sophie, Olivia, Kodi, Conor, Caleb, Matix, Nixon, Rylee, Ben, Paisley, MaKayla, Shayna, Triston, Johnny, Vance, Alia, Will, Audra, Jackson, Collin, her latest love, Rory, and soon-to-come Easton. She also had step-grandchildren Jamie, Ryan, Justin & Ava. Her little buddy, Rocky, is lost without her.
Mom loved being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and devoted her life to the gospel. She enjoyed cooking & baking and could have been famous for it if she would have chosen to. Instead she decided to be a Mom & raise her family, and we think she did an amazing job. She was raised in the depression, had no shoes to wear in the summer and owned only two dresses that she wore a week at a time, yet she loved her life from start to finish. She faced adversity with dignity, sadness with hope, hardship with determination. She loved to laugh & we never could get her to act her age. She took pride in her health & just two years ago hiked with her family to the top of Seneca Rocks! We don't quite know what we're going to do without her, but will follow her example and live our lives to the fullest in her honor.
Friends will be received at the Deaner Funeral Home in Berlin, on Thursday, Feb. 9, 017, from 4 to 8 p.m. and at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 12205 Gramlich Rd SW LaVale, on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at 10 a.m.
