Little Orleans, Maryland - Dorothy Elizabeth (Leasure) Price, age 98, of Little Orleans, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at her home.

Born July 9, 1922, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ethel (Smith) Leasure; and the widow of Joseph Wellington Price, who passed away on Oct.4, 2018.

She attended Piney Plains United Methodist Church, in Little Orleans, and the Hancock Presbyterian Church, in Hancock.

She worked as a cook for the Little Orleans School district for over 30 years.

Dorothy is survived by her son-in-law, Robert L. Shoemaker, of Hancock; and a granddaughter, Robin L. Carbaugh, also of Hancock; two great-granddaughters, Sydney E. Weller, of Hancock, and Brianna C. Clanton, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; a great-grandson, Brandon S. Carbaugh, of Hedgesville; and a sister, Mable Hendershot, of Warfordsburg, Pa.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Elton L. Shoemaker; and one son, Kenton Joseph Price; one great-great grandson, Matthew S. Ward; five sisters, Inez Mellott, Pearl Kerns, Ruby McMonigal, Billie McMonigal, and Erma Shanholtz; and three brothers, Mack Leasure, Fred Leasure and Homer Leasure.

Services will be held at the Hancock Presbyterian Church on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at noon, with visitation for one hour prior to start of the services. The Rev. Terry Martin-Minnich will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Plains United Methodist Cemetery, Little Orleans.

The family would like to give a special "thank you" to caregivers, Lyla and Pannel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Hospice of Allegany County.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock.
