Cumberland, MD - Edward "Eddie" F. Peterson Jr., often lovingly called "Buds," joined his mother in Heaven on Dec. 3, 2025.

Born Sept. 30, 1983, in Baltimore, Md., he is the son of Edward F. Peterson Sr. and the late Mary (Misotti) Peterson.

Eddie was raised in the Catholic faith, serving as an altar boy all through his elementary and middle school years.

While living in Baltimore, Eddie attended Arch Bishop Curley High School and was on the wrestling team. In addition, he played on the Rosedale Soccer Rec League, which was also coached by his father.

Eddie was a graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, where he was a wide receiver on the football team. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Frostburg State University.

In his spare time, Eddie enjoyed working out at the gym, boxing and staying fit. He was an avid sports fan, but especially loved the Ravens, Orioles and Maryland basketball.

Eddie loved animals, especially his beloved first dog, Jojo.

He belonged to Fort Recovery, having developed many friendships there.

In addition to his father, Eddie is survived by his stepmother, Kathy; two sisters, Jennifer Peterson and Amanda Peterson Mannick and husband Ryan; loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m.
