Barton, Maryland - Edward F. Rhodes, 85, of Barton, Md., passed away under hospice care at his home on Sept. 15, 2025.
Born Nov. 9, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Ethel (Hamilton) Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Kyle) Rhodes; his siblings, Harold Rhodes, Llyod Rhodes, Shirley Vinci and William "Sonny" Rhodes; and two step-sisters, Genevieve Broadwater and Doris Hott.
Edward proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Barton American Legion Post #189. He was employed at Westvaco quality division for 35 years.
Edward is survived by his son, Dr. Jeffery Rhodes and wife Karrey Kealy-Rhodes; his grandchildren, Kyle Patrick Rhodes, Liam Edward Rhodes and wife Caitlin, and Sean McCartney Rhodes and fiancé Gabriella Rumgay; a great-granddaughter, Nellie Ann Rhodes; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and his special friend, Julie Brubaker.
In accordance with his wishes, Edward will be cremated and no funeral services will take place.
