Hope Mills, NC - HOPE MILLS, N.C. [mdash] Edwin Maxwell Horchler passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2025, at his home after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Cumberland, to Edwin Maxwell Horchler and Mary Elizabeth (Clark) Horchler.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Faye (Cummings) Horchler; and their daughter, Michelle Horchler, both of Hope Mills, N.C.; a sister, Sheryl Kelso, of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; along with four nieces and a nephew.
After graduation from Allegany High School, he became a U.S. Army Veteran, and served 10 years as a Maryland State Policeman. Locating in North Carolina, he continued work in Real Estate Management/Maintenance.
Known for his "wicked" sense of humor, he never met a stranger, and was always the first to offer a helping hand.
