Elsie M. Barnes (Matthew) Obituary
Flintstone, MD - FLINTSTONE [mdash] Elsie Marie Barnes, of Flintstone, passed away on April 11, 2026, at Allegany County Health Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Cumberland.
Elsie was the daughter of the late Grover and Rosalia (Donohue) Bridges, in Beans Cove, PA. Elsie's many years on this earth define "a life well-lived."

Elsie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Elsie was a substitute teacher in her early years, working at a one-room school in Pennsylvania (Walnut Grove). She later worked as a child-care provider in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Elsie loved children and many of those to whom she provided care stayed in touch through the years. Elsie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling stories, and making people laugh.
Elsie is survived by her daughter, Lu Ann Marie McKenzie (husband Buddy); granddaughters, Heather Lee Adams and Laura Ann Yost; grandson, Joseph Charles McKenzie; great-grandson Tucker Yost, and fiancé, Anjolie Aguilar; and great-granddaughter, Khloe Yost.
