LaVale, Maryland - Elwood Eugene Glass, 91, of LaVale, Md., was reunited with his wife, Janet, on Saturday, May 16, 2026.


Born on April 22, 1935, in Accident, Md., Elwood was the son of the late Ernest Earl Glass and Ruth (Colflesh) Glass. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet E. Glass, on Feb. 27, 2026; his grandsons, Brandon Haney and Chad Albright; and his three brothers.


He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.


A U.S. Army veteran, Elwood retired from the Maryland State Police as a communications officer. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church; the LaVale Lions Club, where he served as president and where he helped with the pre-school eye screening program for numerous years, as well as collected eyeglasses to provide for the community.


He loved traveling with his family, especially with his wife, Janet.

Elwood is survived by his children, Kathy Coyle, Kay Haney (Dennis), and Eugene Glass (Donna); his nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.


Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, MD 21502, www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m.


A funeral service will be conducted at the Christ Lutheran Church, 1222 Vocke Road, LaVale, MD, 21502, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Daniel Swanson officiating. Friends will also be received one hour prior.


Interment will be in the Hillcrest Burial Park.


Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
