Green Spring, West Virginia - Frank Roger Cosner, age 80, of Green Spring, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

Born Dec. 30, 1943, in Springfield, he was the son of the late French N. Cosner and Helen V. (Brown) Cosner. Besides his parents, Frank is preceded in death by a brother, Gary W. Cosner, Sr.; and by a nephew, Rick Cosner.

Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Ann "Pat" Cosner of Green Spring; his sons, David S. Jackson and wife Shirley of Ohio, and Stephen A. Monell and wife Paula and family of Virginia; and his granddaughter, Maria N. Jackson. He is also survived by his brother, Dailey L. Cosner and wife Kay of Green Spring; his niece, Tammy McKenzie and husband Mike; and his nephews, Gary Cosner, Jr. and wife Kim, and Brian Cosner and wife Penney.

Frank was raised in Springfield and graduated from Romney High School in 1962. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Shepherd College in 1966 and his Master's in Social Work from West Virginia University in 1971. Frank worked for the Department of Health and Human Resources for over 33 years. Throughout his employment, he held various roles and finished his career in Child Protective Services, retiring in 1999.

Frank enjoyed hunting, traveling, gardening, and Civil War era history. He was truly an outdoorsman and loved being in nature. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m., at the Springfield Assembly of God Church in Springfield. Funeral services for Frank will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at 1 p.m., at the church with friends being received one-hour prior. Pastor Ric Lewellen will be officiating and interment will be at Forest Glen Cemetery in Green Spring.
