Gale Ellen Bradfield Obituary
LaVale, MD - Gale Ellen (Martin) Bradfield, 82, formerly of Sisterville, W.Va., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Born October 13, 1942, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Kane) Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Stewart" Bradfield III in August 2015.
Gale spent her childhood living in multiple cities across Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Gale graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1961. Shortly after, she married her husband, George "Stewart" Bradfield III in August of that same year. Gale and Stewart were blessed with two daughters, Carrie and Beth. She was a dedicated and loving mother, spending her time raising her daughters and creating memories.
Gale was also a strong member of the Sisterville community, supporting her husband Stewart in the planning of countless diverse community events. Gale took a great deal of pride in being a member of a small tight knit community.
Gale went on to become a grandmother of four girls, Jennifer, Sarah, Emily and Katie. She was always invested in spending time with her granddaughters and was a constant presence and support. Gale loved talking about her childhood memories, music from her lifetime, as well as reminiscing on her favorite trips she took with Stewart and her girls. She took joy in keeping an immaculate home and passing on her very specific tips and tricks.
Gale is survived by her daughters, Carrie Rogers and husband David, of LaVale, and Beth Athey and husband, David, of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and her granddaughters, Jennifer Black and husband, Jared, Sarah Weldon and husband, Sawyer, and Emily and Katie Athey.
