Gary Joe Cooper Obituary

Gary Joe Cooper, 71, of Seldom Seen Road, Lonaconing and Laurel Lane, Swanton died Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland.

Born on Oct. 20, 1951 he was the son of the late George "Gary" Cooper and Mary (Timney) Cooper.

Gary was a 1969 graduate of Valley High School and he retired from NBCI, where he worked in the warehouse. He enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time at Deep Creek Lake.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Leslie Cooper; his children, Bethany Cooper (Ralph), Erick Alkire (Jen), Corey Alkire (Jen) and Jennifer Rollins (Jason); 11 grandchildren, Carter, Corrine, Mason, Bella "Rilee", Abby, Emily, Callie, Jase, Kaylien, Trinitie and Lowen; a brother, Tim Cooper; and a niece, Kelley Cooper.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A memorial service will immediately follow, at 4 p.m., with the Reverend Tom Morgan officiating. Inurnment will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
