LaVale, Maryland - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George "Ed" Edward Weaver, Jr. on June 12, 2026, in Cumberland, Maryland, at the age of 86.

Ed was born on January 31, 1940, in Cumberland, Maryland, to George E. Weaver, Sr. and Alberta Weaver. He graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1958, where he excelled in playing baseball. After serving his country in the United States Army, Ed worked and retired from Kelly Springfield, American Rent-All, and Allegany County Public Schools, where he was a school bus driver.

Ed was devoted to his community and generously gave his time to organizations and youth programs he cared deeply about. He was an active member of the LaVale Lions Club, a proud member of the F-Club, and spent many years coaching youth baseball and football through the LaVale sports program. His dedication, encouragement, and positive influence touched the lives of countless young athletes and their families.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Weaver; his son, Keith Weaver; his daughter, Terri Rosenberger, spouse Jon, and his stepson, Scott Gass, spouse Chabely. He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to carry forward his love and legacy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD. A committal service will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Flintstone, Maryland. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Ed's life.

Though gone from our sight, Ed's vitality, kindness, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and community will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will be treasured always.
