George William Hansford, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022, at the Doey's House.
Born Saturday, May 22, 1937, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late George Harmon Hansford and the late Lalla (Sciese) Hansford.
He was employed with Mack Truck where he worked as a machine tool operator.
He attended John Wesley United Methodist Church.
He was also a member of UAW.
He loved working with his hands whether it was something mechanical or woodworking.
He would put his family first and had a big heart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Ann Hansford; father, daughter, Susan Hansford, daughter, Kathleen Miles and husband Steven; granddaughter, Amanda Warner and husband, Dustin; granddaughter, Jessica Taylor; one brother; and five sisters.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Gerald Hansford; son, Colin Hansford; five brothers, six sisters.
Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740, with Pastor Doug Hoffman and Dave Hayes officiating.
Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
