Frostburg, MD - George Emory Scott Jr., 78, of Frostburg, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Sterling Care.

Born June 23, 1947, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late George Emory Scott Sr. and Pauline (Wiliams) Scott. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Scott.

George served his country as a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a Beall Class of 1966 graduate. George served in the Frostburg Police Department for 35 years. He liked watching Westerns and playing board games with his grandkids.

He is survived by two children, Katrina Scarpelli (Bill) and Andrew Scott (Michell); five grandchildren, Alysha, Jake (McKayla), Bethany, Alishia (Corey) Rexrode and Courtney (Jamel) Evans; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brad, Parker, Landyn, Sonny, Ben, Harper, Kensley, Brit, Madisyn and Maisie; and sister, Sylvia Twigg.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Gary Barkley officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park, where American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors.
