Geraldine Elizabeth Suesse, 82, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at Complete Care at Dawnview.

Born Dec. 30, 1942, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. Hout and Daphne V. (Plummer) Hout.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Suesse II; son, Robert E. Suesse III; and her siblings, John Hout, Jacob Hout, and Charlene Burt.

Mrs. Suesse was a graduate of Fort Hill High School. She worked at Household Finance for 7 years. She had retired from Long and Foster Realty, previously The Goodfellow Agency after working as secretary for twenty years.

Gerry was an active member of Springfield Assembly of God. Over the years she had been the Church Treasurer, a Sunday School teacher, and the Missionettes leader. She had also helped with the Springfield Food Pantry beside her longtime friend.

She was a beautiful prayer warrior and was always involved in the church prayer chain. Her prayers were impactful and beautifully received. Also, she had a love for sewing and creating things for people from quilts to sewing new uniforms.

Survivors include her devoted son, Christian "Chris" Suesse and wife Jennifer; daughter-in-law, Angela Suesse; grandchildren, Katelynn, Robbie, Ava, Carson, and Collin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Heather Hout. She also leaves behind her beloved church family and numerous friends.

Friends will be received at Springfield Assembly of God on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m.

A service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Ric Lewellen officiating.

Following the service, inurnment of Bob and Gerry Suesse together will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland, as a final testimony to their dedication to each other.
