Grace Marie Puffinberger, 85, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2023, at her residence.

Born Oct. 20, 1937 in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late Delbert "Jim" and Evelyn (Hovermale) Puffinberger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by siblings, Anna Clingerman, Beverly Shipway, Robin Dolly, Theodore Puffinberger, and Richard Puffinberger.

Grace resided at home, in Little Orleans, with her parents, until 1987 and afterward, in Washington County Human Development Council managed group homes in the Hagerstown area for 36 years.

She enjoyed being with family and friends, receiving cards, letters, and gifts. Grace was friends with everyone she met and could remember them. She enjoyed working on the home farm, especially tending to the animals and poultry. She spent much of her time coloring, listening to music, and watching her favorite TV shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Grace was employed for many years by the Washington County Human Development Council.

Grace is survived by her siblings; Donald Puffinberger, of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Charles (Betty) Puffinberger, of Winchester, Va., and brother-in-law, Kenneth Dolly, of Marietta, Ga.; thirteen nieces and nephews, thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews; several cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Piney Plains Methodist Church Cemetery, Little Orleans.

Honorary pallbearers will be her beloved nieces and nephews.
