Piedmont, WV - Gregory Paul Hill, 76, of Piedmont, W.Va., passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at his home. Born on March 20, 1949, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Coleman) Hill.
Greg began working for the former Westvaco Paper Mill when he was 18 years old and faithfully served the company for nearly 50 years. Many of those years were spent as supervisor of central manpower. He had also served in the National Guard.
He enjoyed watching the WVU Mountaineers, Dallas Cowboys and LA Dodgers. Most of all, Greg loved spending time with his family, anticipating the needs of his family and providing for them. He was also known to enjoy a good shopping trip with the intention of sharing gifts with others.
He was well-loved, respected, and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his granddaughter, Teyanna Boyd of Morgantown, W.Va.; great-grandson, Zakhi Fletcher of Morgantown; a sister, Sondra Hill; brothers, Joseph "Jay" Hill and wife Margaret, and Gary Hill and wife Beverly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia "MeMe" Lillian (Brooks) Hill; and their daughter, Dawn Michele Hill.
Friends will be received at Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes - Piedmont, 31 Jones St., on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 34 Jones St., Piedmont, WV, at noon on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, with the Rev. William Kady, who was a good friend to Greg, officiating. Interment will follow in the Potomac Valley Memorial Gardens.
