Harold Michael "Sonny" McGregor, Jr., 84, of Maysville,W.Va., passed away on March 28, 2023, at his residence. Born on September 15, 1938, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Harold M. McGregor, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth (Richardson) McGregor.

After graduating high school, Harold served our country in the United States Army and then pursued a career as a supervisor in paper manufacturing. He retired from Meade Westvaco after 40 years of service. He was a member of Divine Mercy Saint Peters Catholic Church in Westernport. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion in Barton.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline J. (Dunn) McGregor; five children, Joy McGregor and Bill Miller, Kathy Beeman and husband, Rick, Mary Perry and Jeff Moody, Mike McGregor and wife, Anita, and Bill McGregor and wife, Tracy; fifteen grandchildren, Rickey and Dana Beeman, Mandy and Eric Abe, Kari and Eric Schramm, Danielle and Daniel Garlitz, Zoe and Bradly Welch, Raymond Perry, Michael McGregor and Victoria Gordon, Kayla and Dakota Green; three stepgrandchildren, Justin, Bobby, and Courtney Sarver; twenty five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill McGregor and wife, Irene, and Mary Catherine Lyon; sister-in-law, Kathaleen McGregor; and brothers-in-law, George Dunn, David Dunn, and Milard Dunn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin McGregor and Robert McGregor and wife, Brenda; brother-in-law, Robert Lyons; and fur babies Sadie, Magie May, Simba, and Sheena.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Fredlock Funeral Home, 31 Jones Street, Piedmont. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Divine Mercy Saint Peters Catholic Church in Westernport.

Internment with military honors will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lonaconing at a later date.
