Ellerslie, MD - ELLERSLIE [mdash] Hazel A. Davis, 82, of Ellerslie, died May 23, 2026, at UPMC-Western Maryland.
Born July 3, 1943, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Cline and Nellie (Dentinger) Cline Martz and stepdaughter of Homer B. Martz Sr.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Davis, on Jan. 29, 2018; her brother, James Cline; sister-in-law, Margie (Harris) Cline; brother-in-law, Charles Fryer Jr.; niece, Michele Buser; and nephew, Kevin Vinton.
Hazel was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Class of 1961.
She belonged to Our Lady of the Mountains Parish—St. Patrick's Church.
Hazel was a homemaker and loved crocheting and making crafts to give away to charities and friends.
She also helped her husband in the 1970's with sports and scouting activities for many of the young men in the Ellerslie area. She and her husband were part of the original small group that created Ellerslie Athletic Field.
Surviving are her children Gregory Davis; Victoria Davis; and Michael Davis, and wife, Robin; grandchildren, Christopher Davis; and Kateland Wilson, and husband, Mitch; great grandchildren Colton and Hayden Wilson; brother, H.B. Martz Jr., and wife, Crissy; sisters, Nellie Fryer; and Joan Frame, and husband, Johnnie; brother-in-law, Ronald Davis; and sisters-in-law Shirley Fraembs, Betty Davis, and Fumiko Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, Hazel will be cremated.
Visitation at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on June 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. until noon. A prayer service will follow at noon.
Inurnment will be in M.S.V.C. Rocky Gap on June 22, 2026, at 1 p.m.
